The company sells a variety of colored cake stands in larger sizes that are designed to support the weight of tiered cakes. The website is geared towards couples planning their wedding and fulfills a need in the market for wedding cake stands.
The website creates an easy1-2-3 ordering process where the customer simply selects a cake stand size, color and then completes the purchase. The Wedding of the Month page showcases one customer's wedding day each month. And, the Inspiration Gallery shows a diverse collection of wedding cakes on Sarah's Stands cake stands. "I love all types of weddings," said Sarah of Sarah's Stands, " So, we're looking for a wide variety of wedding styles, budgets and cultures to feature on our website." In 2009, Sarah's Stands - a Cake Stand Company was started by Sarah Oetting after she could not find a cake stand for her wedding. Frustrated with her lack of choices, she decided to design her own line of cake stands. She made a list of all the elements she wanted in a cake stand; a classic pedestal shape, lots of color options, a range of larger sizes, a completely flat top plate and a material strong enough to hold the weight of tiered cakes. She combined these elements into what she considers "the perfect cake stand." Since it was founded, the company has grown to include her husband, Aaron Oetting, and, most recently, their business partner, Derek Sweet. As a company, they hope that Sarah's Stands becomes a staple of the wedding industry by offering couples exactly what they are looking for in a cake stand.
